Our History

A Ministry Born from a Vision to Restore

Assembleia de Deus Ministério Missão Projeto Restaurando Vidas was founded in Toronto, Ontario in 2012 by a small group of Brazilian-Canadian believers who recognized a profound need: hundreds of Portuguese-speaking immigrants and marginalized residents in the Northwest Toronto corridor were living without spiritual community, practical support, or a sense of belonging.

Driven by deep conviction and led by the Holy Spirit, the founding pastor and a handful of dedicated volunteers began holding prayer meetings in homes along Keele Street. What started with eight people in a living room grew into a registered nonprofit ministry with a congregation that spans dozens of nationalities and a portfolio of community programs that serve hundreds of families every year.

In 2015, the ministry received its official charitable registration from the Canada Revenue Agency (BN: 796065936RR0001), formalizing its commitment to transparent, mission-driven social and spiritual service for the people of Toronto.

Statement of Faith

As part of the Assembleia de Deus (Assemblies of God) tradition, we hold to the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith as expressed in the Holy Scriptures and affirmed by the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths.
